FAQ FutureMentor
Target audience: parents. Tone: clear, honest, without marketing fluff.
The product
Who is FutureMentor for?
For students in grades 5 to 10 in maths. At signup you choose country (and state if applicable), school type and your child's grade — tasks follow the matching curriculum so content fits the classroom.
What sets FutureMentor apart from other learning apps?
FutureMentor doesn't give the answer away. Our learning companion Foxy helps your child with follow-up questions and hints to find their own solution path — real understanding instead of memorising. That's also what sets us apart from simply looking things up on ChatGPT & co.
Can my child use it to get homework done for them?
FutureMentor doesn't prescribe solutions — not even for homework. But if your child didn't understand a task, they can ask Foxy. The system finds similar practice tasks and works through them with your child — step by step, the FutureMentor way. So your child understands the path and can solve the actual homework themselves.
Are there real teachers or tutors?
No. FutureMentor is a fully automated learning platform without human supervision. Behind the scenes it's not just 'an AI' but intelligent learning guidance combined with refined mathematical methods that analyse questions and tasks by similarity and meaning. Feedback is instant, patient and as often as your child needs. FutureMentor replaces neither school lessons nor personal tutoring where that's needed.
What do I see as a parent?
You have your own parent dashboard: what your child is working on, where there's progress, where it's stuck — plus dates and grades if maintained in the calendar or grades area. You see development without looking over your child's shoulder.
Can students chat with each other or make contacts?
No — and that's intentional. FutureMentor has no chat between users, no comments, no profiles others can see, no social media features. Your child works in a closed, protected learning space — no distractions, no contact risks.
What is the working agreement about?
At the start parents, child and FutureMentor make a simple agreement: parents let the child work independently — only then do results show real ability, not the family's. The child agrees to stay on task and not misuse the system. A first breach means a warning to the child, a second notifies you as parents. Everyone sees clearly that FutureMentor is a learning tool — not chat or a toy.
Does FutureMentor guarantee better grades?
No, and anyone who promises that isn't serious. Success depends on many factors — especially regular use. FutureMentor makes practice time effective: tasks that match the curriculum and help that prompts your own thinking.
Is FutureMentor aligned with the curriculum in Austria?
Yes. FutureMentor covers core maths competencies for lower-secondary AHS (Allgemeinbildende Höhere Schule) and Mittelschule (grades 5–10) in Austria.
Pricing and trial
What does FutureMentor cost?
The current price per child is on our Preisseite. There are no hidden costs and no minimum term — you can cancel monthly.
Can I try FutureMentor for free?
Yes. During the 14-day statutory withdrawal period you use FutureMentor free with full features — nothing is charged in that time. Only after that does the chosen plan become paid. We remind you by email before it ends; if you don't want to continue, simply cancel beforehand.
Why do I need to provide a payment method for the free trial?
For verification: we need to know who uses our system — that protects against abuse and anonymous accounts. Nothing is charged during the 14 days, and you can cancel any time before they end.
I have several children — do I need several accounts?
No. Through your parent account you create a separate profile for each child — each has their own learning area. How many child profiles are possible and what they cost is shown with each offer on the Preisseite.
Are there discounts or promotions?
Occasionally yes — such as launch offers or referral programmes where you and the new customer receive credit. Terms are shown directly with each offer.
How do I cancel?
Any time in a few clicks — via the cancel button on the website or in your account under Settings. Effective at the end of the current billing month, no notice periods, no back-and-forth.
Privacy
What happens to my child's data?
They stay with us. All your child's data is processed exclusively on our own server infrastructure in the EU — during learning operation no data is sent to external AI providers or other third parties. That's technically enforced with us, not just promised.
Does FutureMentor use ChatGPT or similar services?
In your child's learning use: no. The learning companion your child uses runs on our own servers. A technical block ensures student-area requests cannot reach external AI services at all.
Are my child's data used for advertising or sold?
No. No advertising, no selling, no sharing with schools or authorities. To improve the platform we only analyse anonymised statistics across all users — no individual child can be identified.
What happens to the data after cancellation?
All personal data is deleted within 30 days after the contract ends; you receive a deletion confirmation. Before that you can export your data and reports. Only legally required billing data is kept for the statutory period. Details in the Datenschutzerklärung.
Languages
My child speaks another language at home — does FutureMentor help?
Yes. Tasks and help texts can be shown in 10+ languages (including Ukrainian, Turkish, Arabic, Russian, Polish) — your child understands the task in their native language while learning German maths terms. Answers are in German, because that's what counts at school.
Does multilingual support cost extra?
It is currently included free as a trial feature. If that changes, we will announce it at least 30 days in advance — the German version is always included in the price.
Practical matters
Do I need an app?
No. FutureMentor runs in the browser on computer, tablet and smartphone. You can install the site like an app on the home screen — no app store.
In which countries is FutureMentor available?
Countries currently available for booking are shown at registration. Important: booking is only possible for your country of primary residence. If your country is not yet available, you can join the waitlist — we will notify you at launch.
How long should my child practise daily?
Regular short sessions beat rare long ones — as a rule about 20 to 30 minutes on several days per week. The system watches along: if concentration drops, it addresses your child and suggests a break. You can also limit usage times in the parent dashboard.
Should my child pause during the holidays?
Pausing completely isn't ideal — the brain loses rhythm and returning to school gets harder. Better: occasional small tasks in the holidays as 'tuning', no pressure, not every day. That keeps learning fresh for the new term.
I have a question that isn't answered here — how do I reach you?
By email to info@futurementor.ai or via our Kontaktformular. We usually reply within 48 hours.
